Intimacy in marriage promotes a close personal bond. However, maintaining intimacy and keeping that flame alive in a marriage isn't always an easy feat. After babies are born, the romance between couples does take a back seat and no matter how hard we try to sustain this spark in our relationship, life somehow seems to get in the way. The never-ending chores, the responsibility of running the household, job and not to forget our children who gobble up our time and energy.

It is hard but not impossible to find time for romance in our daily lives. In this write up I will be sharing some tips to get closer to your spouse:

1. 1. Words - we all know the power of words. A short text saying ‘I miss you’ goes a long way. Share some flirty messages, some inside jokes which only both of you know.

2. Dinner date - if just the two of you going out is not possible then why not feed the kids early and put them to bed. Then, light up some candles, pop up a bottle of wine and have a late dinner at home.

3. Lunch rendezvous - dates need not be restricted to night-time only. Meet him for a quick lunch and reconnect. Make sure that you don't discuss your children then. Talk about each other or about that naughty dream you had last night.

4. Quickie time - set up an early alarm squeeze in a quickie before the kids are up and feel sexy all day long.

5. Shower – Yup, do a little multitasking and invite him in with you. You will step out feeling squeaky clean and super sexy.

6. Compliment - compliments does wonders for our esteem. When was the last time you complimented him? Go ahead and tell him how awesome he is.

To sum it up my point of view is maintaining intimacy in marriage is not an easy task and the shift from being a couple to being parents is a tricky one. It is hard to keep the spark alive so, learn how to rekindle the romance in your marriage.

Do you have any romance ideas to share if so then post them in the comments section.
