Sadhguru has spoken about the concept of spirituality in a clear
way. He says spirituality does not mean any particular practice or regime; it
is a certain way of being.
It is like a garden in our house. If the plant is not given it's
required dose of soil, water and sunlight, it won't cultivate flowers. We must
do something about it, look after the plant, tend to it.
Similarly, if you cultivate your body, mind, emotions and energies
to a certain level off maturity then something else will blossom within you;
this awakening is what is spirituality within us.
When our rationale is ignorant it questions everything and when
our rationale evolves, it sees everything in a completely different
perspective.
Spirituality is an expansive concept of a belief in
something beyond the self. It strives to answer questions about the meaning of
life, how people are connected to each other, mysteries about the universe and
truths regarding human existence.
Spirituality usually involves the belief in a higher form of
intelligence or consciousness steering the universe. It exists to satisfy the
deeper human eagerness for meaning, stability harmony and truth.
Spirituality means different things to different people. For
some its primarily about a belief in God and enthusiastic participation in
religion. Whereas for others it is about non-religious experiences that help them
get in touch with their spiritual selves through reflection spending time in
nature, prayer and meditation.
