A Better Society

We have created this society, so the onus lies on us to look after it and, if necessary, bring about the desired changes. To do so, first and foremost, we need to have the right attitude. We should be able to look at our society from a broader perspective and address issues amicably and progressively.

According to me, there are numerous concerns that need to be tackled on an urgent basis, however, I will state four crucial ones here:

  1. 1. Women’s safety – Crimes have increased alarmingly against women. They are objectified, stared at, and abused in different ways or forms. Severe punishment and stricter action must be implemented. Only then will these crimes be curbed.

  2. 2. Environmental degradation – We, humankind, are notorious for destroying the environment. Be it overconsumption, exploitation, or overpopulation, each one of us has contributed to destroying the environment in some way or the other. If we want change, we must start by preserving the environment.

  3. 3. Self-love and empathy – Self-love must be a priority. We cannot be selfless and bother about everything around us except ourselves. At the same time, one should develop an attitude of empathy for others. Be available and listen attentively to your dear ones; only then the mental health of everyone will remain stable.

  4. 4. Education and jobs – Every child deserves a good and possibly free education. Over the years, the education system has lost its sole purpose. It has turned into a money-minting factory, and the quality of education and discipline has gone down. Young minds are stressed and are at the receiving end of this crazy rat race.

  5. Additionally, I would like to see a change in the attitude of job seekers. The thinking needs to be revised from “What does this job offer me?” to “What can I offer this job, this designation that I have been offered?”

To sum it up, my point of view is that even though these issues seem daunting, we have to change our mindset, take the lead, start now, and stay at it. Only then we can visualize a better India.
